I have a question pertaining to my stock header/slip-on exhaust. I like the sound of my Scorpion pipes, but....I feel the catalytic converter is killing what they should sound like. Is just gutting or cutting out the c/c an option or do you guys recommend buying a new set of headers? I know if I do, I'll need an aftermarket fuel management system....or do I?

Motad makes headers for the 6th gen but they're $$$. I'd personally just gut the cat. Do a search on cats, there are a few members who have done that here. Either way, to get the most benefit out of either modification you'll want a PC or something similar.

Not sure of any siginifcant sound changes you'd get, however. You'll get a performance gain, might lose a little bottom end with the decrease in exhaust backpressure but I've never seen a dyno to confirm that.

I *really* don't think you will see (hear) any improvement on the sound just by messing up your cat.
I have heard plenty of good sounding exhausts even on bikes that have cats. I think your pipe just sounds the way it sounds. So why mess up a cat thats there for a reason? Anyway I think you'd need to re-map your FI if you did.
