Experienced what people are calling "cold tear" on a set of Dunlop Q3s. Never experienced this on any other tire. They haven't been on a track. Some material refers to them being over inflated, but I run both front and back 4lbs down from Honda recommendations. So, maybe over inflated for Dunlops???

Anyway postem if you got em. Comments or similar issues. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Any possibility it was just damage from road debris?

Initially I thought that but it after searching for similar reports, the three spots look like like other pics on the inter webs. They are in the sides of the tire where the tears have been happening. Also it's not a slit as much as torn.
I guess it could be anything. The one slit is a good one tho. It's like a chunk is missing.
I wrote Dunlop USA support and attached the pics and the mfg date stamp. Asked them for info and an opinion.

Hmm no matter its not good. I run Q2s on the CBR and have never had thast happen, nor have I ever had a problem with the dunlop qualifyers. Going to have to look into this. Keep us informed on your findings

The cold tears I seen were a pattern all the way around the tire, but doing more research I'm also seeing these slits in the tires. Hmmm. Seems your not alone.
I wonder if any other brands are having this problem. I use Dunlops on all my bikes.
