So after looking around at the options (slim to none) I decided to put together a high mount exhaust for my 2000 5th gen. I will order the Hindle part 363-2014 from Motovan and then I want to put a slip-on that will not be too long and should be easy to bolt on. Hindle doesn't even list the 5th gen so any ideas as to which can I should or could put on? I was going to check my local scrap guy to see what Cans he had in CF and see if one would fit but any ideas for new one's would be appreciated.

I ran a Micron CF on my first 5th gen bike. It looked great, sounded awesome and stayed cool to the touch so it was excellent with my soft saddle bags.

Here is what my bike looked like with a Micron high pipe.

A good option for a muffler would be a Delkevic off ebay.

If you want to save a little money and get Micron quality, I still have my Micron exhaust can and want to sell it. Asking $175 shipped. It will come with the nice stainless mounting strap seen in the pics. and the tension springs, but you will need to purchase a new band clamp to attach it to your midpipe.

Thanks for the replies. Some very interesting options. I'm still trying to sort out the mid-pipe but if all fails I would go with a shorty too. The F1 pipe sounds like fun. Let us know how it turns out. Its mostly to show off the ELF swingarm : )

I sold off the Micron and the bike came with the clear front signals when I bought it.

Apologies for reviving an old thread but wanted to add something about GPR slip ons
GPR high mount silencer is beautifully made but quite expensive. The full power version was way too loud for my liking and made the engine back-fire until a DB killer was fitted. It had to go in the end and was replaced with a Motad full stainless system with a substituted high mount mid pipe that I found on eBay...
