Since it seems that the Honda dealers don't want to carry the push pins for the inner fairings, I found some at "CarQuest":
    Box of 36 for $10.08
    Part number: ABH 8171153 "Rivet"

Also available in the stores in 2 packs, but the box is the better deal. It was a special order, but delivered in about a day.

The person at Honda Corp. that was responsible for putting those crappy
plastic fasteners should be taken out and horse whipped! Must have been
the latest recruit right out of design school. Sometimes overall designs are
neutered by things that make maintainability a nightmare. I know, I was part
of a design review board on military stuff and often we caught things that
needed to be redesigned before they became the final product. We would sit
and watch the preliminary items taken apart for maintenance. If there was a
problem we would ask the design engineer to do it. This was done over and
over until it was the very best maintainability design possible. As a retired Human
Factors Engineer, sadly, I don't see this being done on motorcycles and cars
too well. Of course the shops must love it when the poor designs require
more labor hour$. I won't go into how poor some of our motorcycle shop
manuals are. As motorcycle owners we need to give more feedback about
these things to Honda Marketing in southern California. But I doubt if it will
really do any good with those clowns...:caked:
