When I apply front brakes I get a pulsing that, although not scary, is kinda distracting. I straight-edged both rotors and they are true. Have flushed the brakes with synthetic. Now it stops better, but still pulses. It's an even pulse that becomes more pronounced with harder braking.

I'm one of those guys that thinks stopping is more important that hauling ass, so this bugs me...any ideas?

    Thanx

even w/ straight edge you will not be able to really pick up on the rotors being warped due to heat over the years.
might be time to replace if it annoys you.

Are you getting pulsing in the brake lever or is this causing a vibration in the bike itself?

The entire bike shakes from the front brakes. I gotta replace the fork seals anyway so I will pull the disks then and have them checked for warpage. Figures that something easy like a straight-edge wouldn't be enough. I haven't checked yet...are replacements still available? I'm on a budget so I hope they don't cost a king's ransom! I assume they're not repairable if warped and have to be replaced in pairs...

I gotta get one of those Service Manuals. That looks much better than my Chiltons.

    You guys are the best...

I can't confirm this (because I can't find the document I was looking for) but, based on your description, I think your problem has more to do with your forks than your rotors. My CX did (does) the same thing (under heavy breaking, normal was fine) but one fork tube was higher in the tree than the other and I question the integrity of the seals. If there is enough material left in the rotors you may be able to have them reground. If not new ones can be had from EBC. They're going to run you ~$130 per rotor. You could also try your luck with some used ones from here or ebay. I have Chilton and Honda manuals for my bikes and I only ever use the Honda ones.

Thank you for all the advice...will have time next week to pull the forks to change out the seals. Will let you know what I find.

    Happy St. pats Day.
