After much deliberation, I decided to get the white deluxe Vfr. I was considering several bikes, but I found a great deal on eBay and flew into Omaha and picked up the bike with only 1200 miles for a very nicely discounted price. The bike came with bags, risers, and other nice goodies.
Rode it back last night and finally a happy owner of the 8 gen Vfr.
I am an owner of 03 silver Vfr, so I knew what to expect. As you already know, 8 gen is an overall better 6 gen. The lightness, better brakes and that pearl white paint. This bikes shines in a sunlight with tiny little crystals, man the paint job is good! The bike also came with 2 drilled led lights in the saddle bags (1 where the reflector is, one in front) so the bike is lit-up like the Christmas tree:). Being more visible to others is always a good thing.
Talking about the saddle bags, I would say it's the only area where I will miss my 6 gen. I am used to put a helmet in one and my jacket in another one, lock it up and go eat, walk around, etc. 8gen bags are disappointingly small. The exhaust side one is way small. The exhaust could have been 4-5 inches shorter and the problem would have been solved (and the rear wheel would be more visible too). Other manufacturers have figured it out how to make anshorty exhaust, Honda can as well. Look at fj-09 or Ninja 1000. Don't look at the concours (lol), that thing is hideous.
Anyhow, I'm very pleased how the bike rides, how it sounds stock! What a refined machine! I will be selling some 6 gen parts, if anyone needs a vario screen with a spoiler or a gpr exhaust, let me know...

I think that 8th gen is the sweetest thing since the discovery of honey. If mine ever kicks it, I am marching right on down to my stealership and ordering myself a new one of those.

Thank you, guys. I always liked he looks of 6gen, but Honda took it to another level with those wheels and the paint job.

Like auxiliary lights. They have been wired to turn on with ignition key in the ON position.

That's how I feel about it. Luckily it came with them. Otherwise it be $900 for tiny bags!!
Even a left one has an indent for no damn reason. Honda cheaped out on the bags and the exhaust design (sounds better than 6gen stock exhaust though).

Wow, I had no idea you were looking at the 8th gen. It was because you saw mine and got jealous right? :beguiled: You should've hit me up on CSC, I would have let you take mine for a spin to see if you liked it. Either way, I'm looking forward to riding with you again, now that we'll have the "matched set" so to speak.

BTW, if you're interested in the CF Delkevic exhaust I had on mine for several months before I got the DAM, you can have it for free.

Haha, when I saw your bike for the first time it was love from first sight:) it's something about the bike and familiarity that made me get a one new. This bike looks so sweet it's more like jewelry than transportation. I was getting thumbs-up in he middle of NE.
Looking forward to riding more with you this year!
Heck, yeah on the exhaust. Thanks! I'll have to check it out how it sounds!

Narrower-definitely it is and feels that way.
It was barely in the 60s so the bike never reached over 180 on the interstate. It went up to 218 in traffic once, so not too much difference between my old bike. I know that it will not be roasting my crotch at least when it does get hot.
