I am curious. I know you all wear helmets faithfully. And when you go on your rides, most probably suit up. But what do you wear when you go for short trips, like to the store to buy a cigar, or if you drive a short distance to work? What if you don't have change facilities at work?

I commute to work on the freeway. About 3/4 hour each way. Leave at 2:30 am and return at 3:00 pm. Wear a two piece textile in winter and two piece leathers in summer, faithfully. But when it is a short trip to the store, or a doctors appointment in town, I zip off the pants and just wear the jacket. Gloves always, but not necessarily boots. I am bad. :tsk:  :nono: What about you?

By the way, I don't go au natural. :jaw: I do wear jeans after I have zipped off the pants.

Pretty much the same as you,RANDY!
2 piece Joe Rocket textile get-up for commuting to work & back and for extended rides.
For a quick zip to 7-11 and/or liquor store I'll leave off the riding pants.
I always wear my gloves and boots.
I am considering a pair of motorcycle jeans for those little trips and hot days.
I ALWAYS throw on my jacket...it takes like 2 seconds..

I normally wear my two piece leathers or my two piece textile deal when I go for longer rides. For the occasional short hike, I do not use teh overpants, but when I do that I never seem to be really comfortable that way. Not sure why. For commuting I'm always in the textile deal since the pants are overpants. Always wear a helmet and gloves.

HJC Helmet, AStars SP-1 gauntlet gloves, AStars ATL jacket (black/white) and Joe Rocket Meteor boots every time. Joe Rocket textile armoured pants when the day's for riding, jeans for commuting or meeting up with friends. AStars pants later this season.

Same as you. Always helmet, jacket, and gloves. 90% of the time some kind of boots but I have run up to the 7/11 with Nikes on.

Same thing like everybody else. Helmet, gloves, jeans, and my leather Icon Jacket. Have motorcycle boots but hardly use them, use ACU and BDU boots, and my Phat Farm kicks (more confortable). I'm planning to buy underpants armor.

ATGATT, with some very few exceptions of wearing jeans, for a short run.

Except one hot ass day I was finishing an oil change on the bike in preparation for a trip and I needed gas. So I through on my old helmet and rode up to the gas station which is maybe a half-mile away in shorts, sneakers and a t-shirt LOL! I never felt so weird. I never got out of second gear putting up to the store, but it didn't matter. I just felt off and people stared at me when I pulled up to the pumps. And not in a good way.

Thanks God no one snapped a picture of me when I did that...I'd be on Stukas squid thread and I'd never live it down!

I think about about the same as everyone else here. If I'm heading up to the movie store to drop off the movies, it's just the helmet jacket, gloves and maybe boots or hard leather shoes. The only time I wear less is on the rare occasion I ride the bike to the gym then I'm wearing my workout gear. I rarely do it though cause all I can think about is if I wreck how bad it'll hurt. The gym is super close, too, but I just think about all those skin grafts and such and decide to just drive next time...

When I am stunting I wear this (so I can feel the bike better):

Otherwise I wear full gear (leather pants, leather jacket, leather gauntlet gloves, sidi boots) for the backroads.

    Power ranger!

and substitute the leather pants for armored jeans and workboots to work and back, and around town.

armored jeans (but I wear sturdy above the ankle workboots for work, and around town) with my sidi's).

I have a textile armored jacket for summer looking for a Leather one for Fall/Spring... I have AGV Leather pants.... I need boots Usually I wear High topped black steel toe boots but I want some nice boots... I do not have full leather gaunltets but I have Olympia gloves with carbon fibre skid plates I just Bought an AGV helmet for myself as my old helmet was just that... Old....

I comute 4 miles to work and I still put it all on.. I find if I ride with only jeans I tend to get kind of nervous and riding nervouse is sometimes worse than riding cocky....

like everyone else, ANY ride has me in at least: helmet, jacket (leather or mesh depending on the weather), gloves, and boots.

however, on any weekend rides where i'm pushing it, i've got on the leather jacket REGARDLESS of the weather and a set of riding pants. not the best pants, but they're better than nothing.

i need to pick up a good set of overpants soon, though, since my commute is about to grow by about 50 miles.

When riding to work, I am usually in my Joe Rocket textile or my Tecknic Leather jacket, jeans, gloves, and my A-stars boots. Always a helmet. lol. For longer rides use my Tecknic jacket, Tecknic leather Chicane pants, helmet, gloves and boots.

Pretty much textile jacket, overpants, helmet, gloves and boots whenever I ride. I have ridden in the past with just jeans instead of overpants, but I feel more comfortable with all the gear on.

Helmet Jacket and gloves. When commuting to/from work, its my Cammies, with helmet and reflective belt and gloves. Looking into some textile overpants for my actual riding days.

When I found this site I had no idea what to wear. From all that I've read on hear and all that I've studied relating to safety I've decided the following.

I ride with helmet, gloves, vented armoured leather pants, armoured textile jacket, and riding boots. I never make any exceptions, whether I'm heading on a long run or just around the block. My theory is, if you don't have the time or energy to optimise your safety prior to getting on the bike, then you shouldn't be riding it.

I have an eight year old son who is in love with motorcycles and I make damn sure I'm a glowing example of safety for him 100% of the time.:thumb:

I never quite understand these questions...
ALL THE GEAR ALL THE TIME. NO exceptions. If I don't feel like gearing up I do not ride. If I need to carry lots of stuff I take the truck. if it is a short distance I take the bicycle. I have 4 so there is always an appropriate bike.

    ALWAYS:
Dainese Zen jacket (perf) and pants
    Sidi Vertigo Air boots
    Held "Steve" gloves
    Icon Domain helmet
    Reflective vest

I have gone down. On the Kawasaki and on the bicycles. Always wear the gear...(And I have a suspicion that jeans are WORSE than bare skin. I have slid on bare skin when bicycling. I have slid on jeans on the MC. I think it is the heat buildup from jeans that make it worse. If you are wearing jeans right now, just rub your hand rapidly back and forht on your thigh and you'll burn your hand. Jeans are only for walking around and making my cute a** look cuter.
    >>>ITALIAN LEATHER is the only thing that touches my Italian hide!)
