Project Interceptor update..(Project name change to Project Shadow)

I had been debating doing some mods to my Vfs apperance for awhile now and while i was on lunch break i acted on that urge today. First up...Fender Elimination in the form of cutting it down to being nothing more then a tab for the rear plate to bolt onto with some material still on the sides for possable relocation of the signal lights in the future. Secondly painting the homemade windscreen to make it look better till i can afford to buy a proper screen..(or this one looks right to me..either one will work...) The paint on the screen is drying at the moment so pics should be up sometime tonight.

where di that turned up tail section come from? is that what the 750 came with? I like that a lot more than the one on my VF 500.

Thats how the 750s came. If i owned a 500 im pretty sure i would have found a way to use a 750 tail on it lol. It also appears its a 700/750 only part. From what i have seen of pics of the 1000s they seem to have a tail like the 500.

tail is the same as the 1000F, as is the seat (except for the stenciled 750 part). Solo cowl is also the same, and the grab handles, and tail light.

Yes, but don't hold your breath on finding one from a 1000. I just saw one on Ebay a few weeks back and it was the first on I've seen in about 20 years.

I may have a line on a VF1000R complete bike and parts bike. There is shop near me that has one, the owner was in the process of restoring it and does not have the money to finish. The bike has been sitting for a year. I have called the shop to see if they would sell me the bike for parts.

Update on project shadow.....Im rebuilding after laying it down last night. Went to pull away from an intersection and the tail kicked out from under me. Damage is contained to the right front signal light, Brake handle and right mirror. There is also minor scuffing on the engine casing and the right mirror. Overall there was more damage to my pride then there was to the bike.

Just some bad bruising from what i have noticed over the day. Fortunitly soon i will be buying my roomates 84 VF. Hes buying another interceptor that is in better condition then this one. So when i buy the other bike i will strip off the needed parts and Shadow will be back stronger then it was before

another update...traded my honda CB fror some needed parts off of my roomates interceptor...He had wanted to keep the fairings off of it but i traded him a CD player for those so now Lone wolf is sportin a new color scheme...black and the original red it was when i bought it..contained the black to the upper cowl and the chin fairing. Both of which are parts i can change off to go back to all red if i chose..

    heres some pics...

Once again the project name changes with the arrival of the 84 Interceptor...it was to become a parts bike but it will now become a stunter and take on the project Lone Wolf name while the 85 takes on the Project Shadow name.

    Interesting!
If I had that bike here is what I would do:
Remove mirrors and get some bar end mirrors.
    Remove turn signals
remove radiator reflectors and repaint or sand blast the guards on the radiator.
get some new much lower handle bars
and last but not least, remove the front fairing and throw on a CB round headlight for the finishing touch!

Easy stuff that would really make your bike stand out from the crowd IMHO
