I have two questions about the power of an '04 VFR. For one, if I were to get one, what kind of top speed can I expect stock? I'm no speed freak, but I love to wheelie, which brings me to my next question. I had a '99 VFR(loved it)and I could power wheelie easily in 1st and 2nd. Can I expect to be able to do this on an '04??? Any input would be appreciated..... :)

I had a 99 viffer and now have a 04 viffer. I have had the 04 going a buck 45 so the top end is there. Wheelies are a little trickie with the vtec. You have to bring it to past 7 grand on the tach to get all valves running then crack the throttle. A little more trickie then the 99 but very do able. I definitely like the 04 much better all around. Seems to be a more refined bike

Not a great bike to wheelie, as it's heavy as hell, not very powerful, and if you do make a mistake, it doesn't crash well. Can't fit crash bungs due to the side mounted radiators, which are pretty fragile, and expensive, $350 a pop. I got into some gravel, and went down on mine, with the saddle bags on, and did $3500 in damage (that's parts only), without a scratch on my body. Keep it sunny side up!!

    Top Speeds VFR03

The VFR800 2003 non/ABS quotes a top speed of 165mph. It can and has been done. :)

You may want to get a more "sport" oriented bike if you want to do tricks and show off your mad skills!! LOL
