Engine wise the bike is completely stock with 9500 miles on it. I installed the PCV along with 02 eliminators and used the stock intake/exhaust map. I set the accel pump function to 80% sensitivity, 15% fuel change, and 30 revolutions. I fueled up and went for a ride, my longest ride yet without stopping, 150 miles. It was pretty much all highway riding, mostly doing 70-72 mph with the occasional WOT blast to either pass or taking off from a stop. It runs so much smoother. Before the power band was littered with flat spots and hesitations. The worst was riding around town in 2nd gear. It would start to buck at very light throttle and the response was unpredictable. All of that is gone. The accel pump feature doesn't seem to have a huge effect but I didn't have it set real aggressively either. I've found some saying that with the accel pump it made enough different it would torque wheelie or if when passing, dropping down to 5th and whacking the throttle it would jump up and run. I didn't notice it to that extent. I'm going to play with the accel pump settings and see what if any difference it makes. Overall it was worth it to smooth things out. I'm sure complimenting intake and exhaust mods would only help more but I doubt I do anymore to it unless the gains are significant. From a fuel economy standpoint I got 43 and change. All stock running between 65-70 I would get a pretty consistent 47 mpg. If I ride it nice, even with the PCV on it, I don't think the mileage will be hardly any different than stock.
I can and I thought about it but I didn't feel like it would be necessary at this point. There can't be that much more power to be had with the auto tune with the bike completely stock. I am looking at getting a BMC air filter at some point and doing the flapper delete mod but thats about it. I like the look of the stock exhaust and it doesn't draw much attention from sound. Does anyone have recommendations on the accel pump settings?
