This week I ordered a Power Commander based upon the discussions on this forum last fall/winter. The dealer asked if I needed to have the map loaded and I said "as long you offered, OK".

When it was delivered I loaded the software and looked at the map. The map was for a 2002 California model with O2 eliminators; although I told him I had a 2004 non-California model. He said I didn't need the O2 eliminators if I didn't have a California model. Is this correct?

Also, I'm assuming the 2002 map works for the 2004 as well since the listing on the Dyna-Jet site says 2002 through 2004. Is my assumption correct?

I haven't installed the module yet. It's been a little too cold for my old bones to ride. Forecast for next week has single digits in it.

That's what I figured. They said I didn't need the O2 eliminators. I guess I could put it together and see if the FI light stays on.

I'd like to do an exhaust system mod too, but I will need to do some research to figure out what I need

    Thanks for your reply.

Don't know yet, I haven't hooked it up. It's a little too cool for me to ride. Temp was 8 degrees this AM. I'll let you know once I'm hooked up. I thought I might give DynaJet a call today to ask.

honda did not make a 49 state 02+ VFR, so you need the eliminators. all VFR's sold in the U.S. have the B.S. emissions gear installed. It's part of Honda's tree hugging campaign.

As far as the maps go, the 02-05 are all the same. The 06 is different due to the difference in VTEC engagement point.

The latest Power Commanders never cease to amaze me. I'm watching our techs squeezr 90+ HP out of relatively stock Harleys. I plan to put one on my SV and if I and get a injected VFR when I sell my 95!:lever:

Below is the response I got from DynaJet support on the O2 sensors:

"You need to take a look at your exhaust system and see if there are any 02 sensors in there. Most 49 state models do not. Take a look and let me know what you find."

Temp is suppose to gtet above freezing this weekend so maybe I'll get out to the garage and do some work.

For the 6th gen there's no such thing as a "49 state bike", they're all so-called CA models. Unless of course you've got a Canadian or European model.

Does that mean that ALL '02 and newer models have the EVAP charcoal canister as well?
