I am looking to possibly buy a 6th generation VFR. I have already posted under General discussion whether or not a VFR would fit me. I am only 5'4'" tall with a very short inseam. I like the look of the Vtech VFR but the 5th generation bike is the lightest ( 458 pound dry weight. ) I am wondering if any vtech owners have ridden the 5th generation bike and if they have noticed any differences in terms of the added weight or ease of use. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hey there fellow portable person! I too am 5'4" about 130lbs. The 6th gen is a bit of a large bike for someone of our size but it is totally managable. Don't let the curb weight rating scare you, the bike is incredibly well balanced and if you are in decent physical condition you should have no problems riding it. I love my 03' and wouldn't trade her for the world, you should try to at least sit on one before making up your mind cause the weight really isn't an issue. Maybe if you're lucky you can even get to test ride one, then you'll REALLY be hooked and must have one!! Good luck, welcome to the wonderful world of the VFR.

I own a 6th gen. but have ridden both a 5th and 3rd gen. Nobody else mentioned it but the seat seems wider on the 6th. IMO the 5th gen handles better in the twists but I think on extended highway trips the 6th gen. feels more stable and planted. It's all about what you plan on doing with the bike but either way I don't think you'll be disappointed.
