Man that link above goes to just the kind of website I hate. You can't read the damn article for all the ads everywhere. I don't mind ads on the side, but when they block the text really pisses me off.

Police on motorcycles in the U. S. with essentially no protective gear when riding is classic Darwinism at work......at the expense of citizens they allegedly "serve and protect". What an oxymoron!

I always thought this too. But they are now wearing far superior helmets compared to what they used to, at least in the outfit I worked for. They do have really good boots for protection, albeit they were not comfortable at all. They are high top cavalry type boots. And the soft body armour does offer more protection for the core of the body than what most armoured jackets do. The shoulders, elbows and hips are left fairly exposed to trauma though. Still. there is plenty room for improvement as far as I am concerned.

I was never a moto cop though. I relied on two tonnes of car for my protection. I was retired for a good three years from them before I had ever ridden a motorcycle.

    ???

Excerpt from the article: "Last night the rider from the Special Escort Group was discharged from the hospital, while the driver was said to be in a 'stable' condition."

What was your intention when you posted this video? Was it just because some of the bikes were vfr's? Seems a little primitive if you don't mind me saying, and I'm sorry if you do.

You obviously don’t get it, do you? Maybe you should look at some other vids of them in action then it may become clearer to you as the title obviously doesn’t.

I don’t mind you saying at all, just as I’m pretty sure you won’t mind me saying either. :)

You didn't answer my qustion and I'm not going to watch other macho videos just to please you. If I don't get it then I think what is there to get? Post what you like, just don't expect peeps to like it, and you are un-original.

Different people with different views, please yourself, no skin off my nose, like everyone else you are free to watch and read what you like.

Yes, it’s nice to see vfrs in action even although briefly.

Things I took away from watching the video and the article about the accident:

SEG personnel look/sound like some of the best trained/skilled riders out there.

I don't know enough about the incident to be able to say who was at fault or more at fault but I think it was very fortunate that no one was seriously injured.

From my weekly powerpoint lecture: "That which depends on me, I can do - that which depends on the enemy cannot be certain." - Sun Tzu (meaning you can be entirely secure and safe in your own riding but out in other vehicular traffic, crap can and does still happen)

Here in the states, it seems like we lose one or two LEOs during escorts (funeral, political/presidential, etc every year).
