PMS - Parked Motorcycle Syndrome

Folks,

I'm sitting here today looking at the calender and it tells me that it is January 11, 2010. There is a foot of snow outside and the temperature reads -10 C. Just wondering if there are any major events in Southern Ontario this summer??? I need to start dreaming about something.

There's the motorcycle show in Toronto January 15th to 17th; and then the Toronto Spring Motorcycle Show in April.

Even though we are having a very mild winter by our standards, I have to keep reminding myself that up here in Ontario near the 49th parallel, winter is not over until it's over.

Any km's put on the bike in April are a rare and absolutle blessing.

The machine is put to bed late October at best...more often sooner.

Damn this PMS!!!!

...been strangely warm out here this year, but pissing rain. I think it was 13.5C the other day at midnight! to break a record. Forecast for tomorrow 7C and partly sunny...might have to get a day permit.:smile:

Haven't ridden since mid-Nov.

 

I'm headed to the Toronto Bike Show tomorrow to drool abit, and see whats new for accessories. Anyone planning on being in Port Dover this Friday the 13th?

 

I was thinking about it. What's the vibe like there? Sportbikes used to get set ablaze in Sturgis! ; )

Dover is pretty tame by those standards. From what I've seen the three times I've been there, there is no line drawn. Everyone just mingles around and takes it all in. There is a lot of OPP enforcement on scene, but they understand that we are there for a good time, so they don't go looking for issues. They are just there to ensure that nobody gets out of hand. All around a good time. I look forward to it everytime.

 

It was clear and cool here in BC about 10C. I think. My hands got cold washing the bike.

 

Crazy...it's actually going to be above 0C today ad tomorrow...what a tease!

 

Snowed 6 inches today, after a weekend that was in the +'s. That is enough to get you annoyed. Does anyone know where to pick up a Sargeant seat in Ontario???

 

greetings from northern manitoba, ah canada, such a nice place to ride (for the 5mo you can) parked the bike in sept due to early snow, warmed up in nove and i rode till dec 1, when it gave us 6" and turned cold. I have been suffering PMS on two fronts since (one albeit is from the GF) looking forward to rolling it out of my kitchen ( i will post pics sooner or later) and I bet so is the GF.

 

The Lord and the Biker


A biker was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, "Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."

The biker pulled over and said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want."

The Lord said, "Your request is materialistic, think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things.

Take a little more time and think of something that would honor and glorify me."

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy."

The Lord replied,


"Do you want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

 

^^^^^^^^^^^^HAHAHA! Very true but the roads in Hawaii suck for riding!

Unless anyone's had any negative experience with them, or knows of a better source?

 

I managed a couple of hours riding on Feb 21st. sunny and plus 5c. I dressed for it and it was a really nice treat.
I'm putting together a run to the GAP area the week of May 10-14 if anyone is interested?
