I had been all hot to get the Ducati 1200 MultiStrada, but that has past. Looked at / rode the MultiStrada member 'alang' traded for his VFR. Nice ride, but just couldn't do the deal.

For now, I'm sitting on the sidelines hoping / expecting Honda to apply some large incentives to clear the warehouses of 2010 VFRs.

    Hey Mike,
I'm pretty happy with the VFR. It's a bit heavy and doesn't have the low end snap of the Ducati, but it's more refined and the FI is spot on.

Don't wait too long. The last year or two has been the BEST time ever to buy a new bike, with massive deals everywhere. Unfortunately new bike purchasing is in my cards for the time being....
Act now, or soon. This won't last forever, god forbid the economy picks back up.

I don't think you can expect to pay much less then the $13K or so that's already being done. Unless of course there happen to be a few new ones in the showrooms two years from now.

I'm just remembering how Honda dumped 2008 CBR1000RRs in March of 2009 for $7k.

I don't see that happening again. Not to that extent anyway. When that kind of thing was going on the country was in the middle of an eighty year economic low. Since then, the economy has slowly rebounded and, more importantly, manufactorers have adjusted their production numbers. I havn't seen that high a percentage of discount applied to '09 and newer. Also you have to keep in mind that the 7th generation VFR's MSRP is $4,000 higher than that of a CBR. $13,000 for a VFR represents a $3K-$4K discount already, which is about the same cost reduction the '08 CBR received.

spot on havcar. I'd say you couldn't be more right if you had double D breasts. The economy was booming and then fell off a cliff catching retailers off guard. They had no choice but to dump inventory and get back into cash. Especially since no one knew how bad things were going to get. Inventory is much more lean these days.

Honda only brought maybe a couple thousand VFR1200s into the US... the deals right now for 13.5k are probably as cheap as you'll see it.
