I got a couple weeks to get the FZ1 ready for a solo ride to and from Ft Benning to pin my kid's wings Airborne School Graduation.
High St, Springfield, OH 44454 to Fort Benning - Google Maps
Fairing going back on, oil change, other asorted checks on the bike. Angel ST's only got 1000 miles burnt on them.
    Any advice on this ride?

+1 Now if you have the time, the area from Asheville NC to Atlanta there are great roads all over the place. Northern GA Chattahoocee Nat Forest is well worth meandering around in. I've spent a couple of weeks in that area two years in a row. Instead of RT28 get over to RT40 and go thru the Maggie Valley. There's a motorcycle museum called "Two Wheels in Time" right down town Maggie Valley. Well worth the stop to spend several hours there. You'll see older bikes you never new were made. Even a 1940/50 Harley Electric and twin opposed army sidecars like the Boxer BMW and a ton more. Great people.

Hope you have good weather and a safe trip. I know you'll be a proud poppa when you do the pinning.

Lemme know if you would like a tour guide for North Georgia and I'd be happy to buy you a burger and Coca-Cola and help you get rid of whatever chicken strips you have left on those tires!

You are also welcome to give me a call if you need a place to work on your bike. I should have all the tools you need including tire changing machine.

I would also highly recommend a route home through Birmingham, Alabama so you can stop at the Barber Motorsports Musuem. I promise you won't regret it!!

Ride safe! Nice looking FZ1 btw. They have always been in my top 3 bikes come shopping time but I always either end up with a VFR or Speed Triple or something else.
