PJ1 Pro Cartridge Fork Fluid..?

Suspicious of the age of the fork oil in my '00, even though function is satisfactory, I'm looking on my lubricants shelf and see I have a quart of PJ1 Pro Cartridge Suspension Fluid 10W.
Confessing to ignorance- fork internals are not my best subject- are the forks on the 5th gen cartridge-type, and would this PJ1 work out well?
I do have a couple of bottles of the manual-specified Honda SS-8 but the PJ1 might be better.

 

The VFR forks are indeed cartridge type. SS-8 is also a 10W oil and the reference I have states 39.7 cP viscosity at 40C. I believe the PJ-1 may be a slightly lighter viscosity (33.9). In any case I bet you bike will feel better with some fresh oil.

 

I like the 7 weight for my Interceptors, just saying, other bike which is a EX500 uses 10 weight.

 

Well, that suggests the PJ1, based on the info from Terry Smith, might be the better choice in this case.
This bike is used as a road and light travel bike for an older rider.
Sadly, that older guy is me.
