Stumbled across some nice high res pictures of the 8th gen's header. Very interesting design. It is a stark contrast to the 5th and 6th gens, as the front 2 pipes merge and the rear 2 pipes merge, before hitting the cat. Also worth mentioning is the single o2 sensor right before the cat, as opposed to the 5th/6th gens two o2 sensors.

Thanks for the pics - very interesting. I've seen comments/complaints from some folks saying that the 8th gen is merely a face lifted 6th gen (as if that would be a bad thing or implying that Honda is lazy) but it seems that Honda really did create a new bike here with all sorts of hidden modifications to the 6th gen lurking under the skin like your pics reveal. I know the frame is supposed to be the same but with different subframe and the engine wasn't changed much but nearly everything else seems different.

What does the "e4" stamping on it mean? Some sort of Euro compliance thing? I noticed that same stamp on my stock exhaust when I removed it.

E4 means it complies with Euro4 emissions standards

Also a much tidier design on the pipe merging and different outlet angles on the front pipes to provide clearance for the front mounted radiators

Well so far, with the engine, it's been discovered that the following changes have been made all revolving around increasing low end to midrange torque, possibly at the expense of top end horsepower:

Higher compression pistons (11.8 vs 11.6:1)
    Softer intake cams
    Revised cam timing
    Reduced exhaust ports
    Longer velocity stacks
And now the confirmed header changes

Well, a bit off topic, and not holding my breath, be nice to see the TYGA header from what I know it's still in the pipe, here's too hoping anyway.
