I like the look and it's comfortable for my 6'5" height. My buddy was selling it after needing the cash and having his Magna to ride. I pulled the plastics off and did a quick run down on the bike and things look decent. The problem is it's been sitting for quite a few years apparently, and the throttle plates are corroded to the sides of the carb. I assumed bad throttle cables at first, but they move fine, it's just the plates. Not sure what to do about it yet. The rest seems good and he said the bike ran when his Dad bought it. They said the clutch might need some TLC, but I'm hoping not. We'll find out eventually when I can get everything up and running. Found this forum to see what you guys had to say about the carbs and just to hopefully get and keep this thing running.
I have not had a lot of luck with carbs that have had the throttle shafts seized. I would recommend findkng a set that are functional and cleaning those, with some new boots you should be riding in no time with little effort. Hope you had help picking the bike up..........they are rather heavy.
Just takes some levers and ramps and gears....... They aren't too bad. Yeah, I spent some time on them today, and while I got them moving, I noticed two of the stanchions are snapped, and a spring is missing out of the last carb's linkage so it doesn't open right away. They open, then stick open. So, now to try and find a set. There's a couple on EBay for like 200-300 bucks. Is that about what I should expect to pay for these things? I don't know of any junkyards or such up here in New England that I could track it down in. I was hoping to not drop a ton of money in it right away.
