My first bike was nearly identical to the CB750F shown here, though mine had a cafe racer headlight fairing. The Interceptor is the one I bought new in '85, and these were taken in 1986 by the guy I sold the bike to.

I put 24,000 miles on the bike in the Summer of '85! I bought the Lockharts, drew out the stripes to compliment the factory stripes on the headlight fairing and battery covers, and took them to an auto body shop to have the paint matched up. I loved the way it turned out!

I wanted an '86 VFR750 when they came out, but instead of buying one... I sold the '85 with no regrets in the Spring of '86. I had come to the realization that I would probably die on it if I kept it. I was 22 and there was only one way I could ride it - WOT. 3 friends of mine went down hard in the Summer of '85, including one guy who I was racing at the time who ended up in a coma for several days.

HOWEVER... it's 26 years later, and I'm that much wiser. I'm looking for that "dream" '86 VFR750. I think I'm "old enough" to ride now!
