Anyone find that by putting the peg lowering blocks on thier bike that they cant get thier toes between the side stand & the shifter???

When I put it on I noticed that the side stand now hits the bottom of the peg & when I lowered the shifter down one spline, I have to push the side stand down to get my toe under the shifter.

I could not adjust the brake side down far enough to get it comfortable, but I think thats because the previous owner dropped it on that side & bent the brake lever. I need to find another one. I just KNOW I am going to break it when I try to bend it back down.

I REALLLY want to make these lowering blocks work, Im 6'4" & that extra room would be AWESOME!!!

    Bob,

Is it the nub on the sidestand that is getting in the way? I cut mine off and haven't missed it.

My sidestand did just barely touch the pegs after installing the blocks, I drilled and tapped in a very small bolt that lowered the sidestand just enough so it wouldn't tap the peg.

I heated and bent the nub out of the way. I also heated and bent the rear brake pedal to get it where I wanted it.

I dropped a bike before, and just pried the brake lever back out.
I also dropped a bike a differant time and had to do the same for the shifter ( it would get caught on the side stand )
Heating it up would have been ideal but both times I was a long way from home.

dont tell anyone I dropped that bike so many times tho :ninja:

thats a nice solution. to it sitting up so high.

Yea for the most part its the nub. I dont really want to get rid of it though, its how I get the side stand down. I wear some big steel toe boots when I ride so its nice to just catch it on the heel & push it down.

thanks for the info guys, I will give it a look tomomrrow.

Nah........ I was jacking with a guy, that was helping me find some fittings for my cold side.

I told him I needed some 3 1/2" to 12" "reducers" to goto my carb hat.

    Cut the nub off

I had the same problem when I bought my lowering block pegs and posted the same question. The answer is to cut off the nub, there is no way around it. Just use the back of your heel to put the side stand down and you won't even miss it. I did not address the kickstand rubbing the block because it has not been brought to my attention before this.
    Thanks
    Tom
