i am a middle aged biker with my 2nd vfr, a 2001, bought off someone whose wife said no. i live in british columbia canada.it is a pretty spectacular place to have a bike. i have been riding for 17 years.
since owning this vfr, i try and take a couple of weeks off each summer for a trip. yosemite once for a wedding, the interior of bc for work a couple of times and last summer northern US to Waterton Alberta. i always take my still camera on the passenger seat and shoot infra red black and white photos. my bike is stock except for the seat and a k&n air filter. i wish the bike had more torque and i am curious as to what honda is going to come up with to replace it

welcome to the group. you are the first person I have ever 'heard' say the VFr needs more torque. I guess you could get a tractor-like v-twin but it's about as torquey as a 4 cylinder gets I think. we have several members up your way and you'll probably see few few replies from close to you before long. welcome again...

Welcome to the club. More torque? That's a new perspective. Like reg, I haven't heard that one wished for before. Sounds like you get to take some really nice rides and trips. I bet you get lots of good pics, too. Thanks for joining us here. There are other members here from Canada, too. Some may be close to you. Small world isn't it?

Welcome Dude, middle aged? Ya right, good to hear you're sorta close by, if and when you find yourself coming this way make sure you drop a note here in VFR world. As far as I know Honda isn't, from what I heard, will be doing nothing to this bike as of yet as far as a change.

While on the Subject, BTW you can take it for whats it worth. Ran into the Honda factory Rep up here this last weekend, cornered him into answering the question, is the VFR done/ run it's course, not going to be made? His comment was, Hell No! So looks like from what I heard, 08s will be a coming..

I've heard it both ways from Honda dealers. However, somehow, I don't believe Honda would tell us if they were going to update the VFR. If they did and were going to up date it ... who would buy an 06, or 07? when an 08 could hold such promise? Although, I do have someone ready to buy my 05 if I buy something new in 08. But I still think they would lose a good part of their sales (and I know the dealers would not be happy).

:welcome: Good to have another BC rider, good find on the 2001 VFR. I was just doing research and mapping out my future BC trip, I was planning on riding as far as the Sunshine Coast and coming back through Vancouver Island, cant wait to start exploring the PNW on two wheels. :thumb:
