I came across this article while surfing the web. A graphic and well-written reminder of the need for proper protective clothing. Not just for you, but for your passengers.

Warning - contains some fairly uncomfortable pictures of an injured woman. In some pictures she is topless but turned away from the camera, so there's no "nudity" as such and it's to illustrate the injuries, but depending on how your workplace sees it, it may not be suitable. That's being pretty anal about it though.

That's a great article. A little hard to look at the pictures but I think every rider should read this when they say they don't need a full face helmet or only want to wear jeans with no protection underneath. Her head is the only part of her that physically didn't get messed up because of the full face helmet. We need to find the guy who let her on the bike and drag him down the road 550 feet so he can deal with what she went through. That :asshat: needs a beat-down.

Yeah, roadrash girl. She has been around for a bit. Nice story to show folks the importance of wearing gear. I showed this to my gf year or two ago so she knew why she couldn't ride without gear.

Thanks for the article. Great article! Well, great in the sense of education. Just too bad she had to go through what she did. It takes a strong willed person to survive what she went through and even a stronger person to be so public about the after effects. Congrats to her for her courage.

I sent the articel link to my wife. She's starting to realize why I am such a HARDASS on her for wearing ALL of her gear when she rides.
