    Am I doing something wrong??

I went to install the grab handles the other day and the screws did not secure them down tight. The screws reach the bottom of the hole before the handle is secure. I looked at the manual and with out the side bags it shows the procedure with out the rubber spacer provided with the brackets. I've tried with the spacer but it presses down on the fairing to much. My only thought would be that with the bags, (I purchased them w/the bike) they provided longer screws and discarded the shorter ones.
    Anyone?

I'm not sure of which screws you are using but mine are 1 5/8" in total length. These were the ones that came with my bike with no side bags. They were directly attached to the handles with no spacer....just a plastic cover to hide the screws once attached to the bike.

    Hope that helps.

Ditto here. I have an 06 and have had the handles on and off frequently with no problems.

Chris 2711, can you post some pix for us to look at? Like RWB, use a ruler for reference.

I would say you definently trashed the wrong screws. I have two sets - one for rails, one for bags and trunk.

    Yeah, it's what I thought.
The bolt I have is 3/4" longer than that one.
    Thanks for the photo RWB25!
I'll have to go see my Honda shop.

Yes, your Honda dealership should have the correct sized bolts for you.

This is the one time where size DOES matter! :party2:

If anyone has a set of passenger grab handles they would like to sell, let me know - I have a 04 Model if it makes any difference. PM me how much you want?
