Hey guys I have a 2005 VFR 800. Im looking for anybody you guys know that sell some parts. I took the bike apart and had it painted, I put all the screws in zip lock bags so I remembered where they go and on the instrument cluster.....somehow I am missing one of the Black push buttons. I checked with one website and the only way to get that piece is to buy the whole instrument assembly which is 75 bucks if I remember right. Any Ideas?

Are you referring to the rubber buttons on the gauge face for resetting the trip meter etc. As you mentioned it looks as though the whole upper assembly is not exactly cheap but if Part #3 on the link below is what you're looking for, it is about $20 cheaper on Partzilla.

You could check on eBay to find parts for your year bike from a motorcycle wrecker/recycler and see if they have a damaged cluster that you could purchase the part from, or maybe they might be willing to just give you the button you need.

Those push type clips are fairly generic. Do a search for automotive push type plastic clips & see what you come up with. Autozone alone has 3 pages of different styles. Any auto parts store should have good selection. Even home improvement stores have a selection of these in their hardware depts. Can also be found at most bike shops or e-tailers. Sometimes called nylon rivets. Now you may not be able to find the exact one. Just size it up (diameter & depth) & you should be good.
