I posted up my noob intro in the other forum. You are the guys with the gen 1 knowledge.
Is there a source for gen 1 parts besides finding them searching the net.
I bought a 83 the other night, I need ignition (which I found new) the left side cowling, pipes (maybe a header instead) the tank is a little bit beat so I will need a shop to fix and the gas cap which was drilled out by some snapperhead at some point in the past.

Welcome to the forum, I don't wanna rain on your parade but you do know about the engine issues these vintage of bikes are plagued with, correct?

I was riding with these when I had a brand new 82 Yamaha Seca 750 and dont remember there being a lot of issues. Tell me about them before I dump money in to this. I think as a project bike it is what I am looking for but I am always up for a bit of advice.
