Parts cross reference?

May be a question that has been asked before but never mind - I have tried searching first!
Is there a cross reference tool that allows you to see if a part from one model is the same as another?
I am working on a VF750FD from 1984, that has a front caliper mounting missing from one of the calipers.
I want to know if a VF750S or VF750C part is the same before buying something that will not fit from Ebay.

Well, I tried to use Ron Ayers - but it wont let me register because I am not in America.

Does anyone have any other sites that I can try?

My fork legs are a bit pitted and I want to check to see if any other VF nodel legs will work?
VF750F legs are listed as dis-continued.
