So I had a good laugh tonight. I always paranoid park my bike right in front of the window at the gym so I can keep an eye on it while working out. But as I was leaving I see someone has managed to squeeze their ZX-6R between my Interceptor and the window - lol - and I thought I was bad! Anyone else a paranoid parker?

    Haha, this is pretty funny!

I admit I am a paranoid parker at times.
Really depends on where I am parking the moto, for how long, if I have gear on it, etc.

Sometimes I'll only sightsee as far as I can still have moto in sight.
I parked in Victoria, BC, with the intention of walking around and seeing a few things.
But it was loaded down with gear and there were tons of people everywhere.
I was alone and did not want to carry all my gear just to sight see.
I went about 100 yards and that was it.

Generally, no ... the only time I'm paranoid is as someone else noted, when I have it loaded down with gear or if I'm out of the province riding. I don't want to let it out of my sight. I always carry extra cables and locks too. LOL!

Other than that, I'm generally OK parking.

It's sad that we have to be like this. There was a story on the forum a while back where a member rode to a motorcycle shop, took off his helmet, placed it on the bike and went into the store. Came out a few minutes later and his helmet was gone!

Even though I have a top case and can fit two helmets in it, if not one and other gear I don't want to wear while I walk around, I still worry about it being in there. Particularly if it's my Schuberth helmet, as 1) it wasn't cheap and 2) it has the SRC COMM system attached to it. I cannot easily remove and install it like the Packtalk on the Shoei. If I don't have my top case, my helmet goes with me!

Deal with it every day at work with all these uneducated people that don't know diddly about motorcycle etiquette. You NEVER park on top of another bike or block his exit just to name a few

    That's waaay too close.

It's been years since I've even pulled the key out of the bike.

    Sometimes that's not paranoid...

Depending on where you are that can be prudent.

Either way, I call it LOVE

Bar end helmet lock and hanger.

I don't pull into a space very far. Want people to see it before they try to whip into the same spot.

I am paranoid about the 8th gen tipping over. I find the side stand makes the bike more upright than my older bikes. I always park it with the pavement slopeing down away from the left side, otherwise it feels very unstable.

Well obviously the most important thing is the head - so I'd recommend a full face helmet with provision for an emergency release.

    MOFWIW.

They are both parked on a sidewalk. Most places that is illegal. I approached a Sgt. I/C local traffic division after I had retired. He had parked his police bike up on the sidewalk at the local Canadian Tire store. I pointed to my bike parked legally in the parking lot and then told him he was a disgrace to the uniform he wore. He was not responding to an emergency. There was no need for him to park there.

We are going through a bad time in my town with theft of bicycles. I just had a higher end mountain bike stolen from me. Actually, it is the second identical bike stolen from me in this God forsaken self righteous town. I took all the reasonable steps to secure both bikes using best then available locks and locking in areas of high natural surveillance. I have replaced this bike yet again with a lesser bike, but still higher end and even more advanced locking system. Depending on where I am going, I may not take my bicycle because the risk of theft out weighs my comfort level of leaving it regardless of how well I secure the bicycle.

I'd be scared that the other bike was owned by one of those bodybuilder chicas who might jump you after a workout.

For those who leave their luggage on their bikes, to insure a "spot", maybe carry some of those traffic cones around or one of those frogs that are motion sensors.

Now that's a sight for sore eyes, Joey! <3 <3

Something like this BB. I'm not endorsing this particular brand or model, just atop a Google search for an example. I have thought about something like this since I do thousands of miles of travel alone and cannot carry gear that's heavier than me everywhere.
