Decided to take the plunge and do all the prep work, prime, and spray a temporary base coat for protection whole I save for the real paint job.
    Before

Did some light sanding with the fairings on and then pulled them all off and did a little finish sand and scuff.

Washed down with acetone and ready for prime

So I've got some aircraft grade paint in metallic silver and classic orange, planning on running like this for a little while and then having the bike spayed with the silver and doing some light accent work with the orange, gonna make a drawing soon and post it to this thread.

She's all tucked in for the night now and I'm letting the fairings cure until tomorrow night. I'll post up some pictures of the finished product tomorrow, so far looks like a 10 foot paint job. Not bad for a 30 dollar investment.

I am constantly amazed at what can be done with four rattlecans of Rustoleum.

Here she is all back together. Hopefully it stays dry for a few days while the paint fully cures as I do need to ride to work everyday.

Fairly happy with how it turned out. Hopefully it holds up well for the next few months until I get the final work done. Just glad to have her one color again haha.
