I always buy pre-owned motorcycles and then make them uniquely mine with mods. I try to convince myself that my mods are all "function-over-form" and REALLY enhance the motorcycle's performance. The mods to the suspension, fueling, and position/saddle are easiest to justify. But, to tell the truth, some expensive mods have been difficult - or impossible - to justify on the cost/benefit scale. I certainly wouldn't undo them now, but they just do not cut the "cost/benefit" mustard. For my VFR's mods, I put the Leo Vince exhaust, the Galfer rotors, and particularly the CZ wheelset in that category. Ah, well. BUT I can't help myself. It's a good thing I buy used to make some financial headroom for the mods. Otherwise my wife would certainly kill me!

Anyone else in the same boat?

My R1 front end, 2 bros full system ceramic coated, sato rear sets and rapid bike fuel/ignition/quick shifter controller. If I hadn't been in school this whole time and could afford it, I'm sure that list would have a fancy rear shock, forged wheels, alloy sub frame and engine work on it too. I need to hurry up and graduate and get a real job. Building this bike on a college budget is taking too long.

I think go-fast mods on bikes usually always look good. I mean, look at Ducati's, they ooze sex appeal.

And I'm a fashion victim on bikes.

Alaska - jeez I know what you mean, I have spend stupid money on mine. And , there is the chance I may do even more on top of what i have already done.

btw- those CZ wheels -- omg -- are gorgeous

    - Had a wife, and eventually told her to go f herself, she didnt like my bike habit. (Of course I was stupid for saying "I do" in the first place.

    ;-)

You are not gonna believe how much money I've put into my 405K and some stocks instead of spending on mods.

With a 405k I didn't know you were from down under. I thought just another Republican from Orange County near the 405.

If your feeling some buyers remorse on the CZ wheel purchase you could relieve yourself buy giving them to me. ;)

I wonder how many VFR's owners sprung for a set? Probably a handful in the USA. That kind of exclusiveness justifies the purchase IMO.

I am keeping all the mods, including the CZ wheelset, but I think I might be insane

Shoot, I gave up trying to justify my bike spending habit years ago. Now I figure if it makes me smile, it's golden.

Yeah, they are rare. I have never seen another. The guy at CZ said that the company's owner loves VFRs and had to makes a wheelset for the Interceptor, but the company doesn't advertise them anymore. Maybe they are out of production. They always were a special order.
