Olympia GT Air All Seasons Transition Jacket

I recently purchased the Olympia GT Air All Seasons Transition Jacket, and other than having the longest name ever for a jacket, it has been a great purchase. So far I've ridden in temperatures as low as 32 degrees, and haven't even gotten chilled inside the jacket.

The Good
:: Quality Construction - it just feels well-made.
:: Versatility - the three layers (outer, windbreaker, and thermal) offer great flexibility for changes in weather, which happen frequently in Denver.
:: Visibility - I purchased the Neon "you can't miss me" Yellow, and it definitely is noticeable.
:: Air Flow - although I haven't ridden in hot temperatures yet, the jacket does allow for great airflow with the front and rear mesh flaps. I also like the easy access zippers on the front that will allow some airflow if temperatures rise in the middle of a ride. I do expect to have to purchase a true summer jacket next year, but the Olympia should get me through 9 months out of the year.
:: Adjustment - the jacket allows for cinching and loosening, as the rider desires. Unzip the arm zippers and use the velcro straps to pull back the jacket to expose the mesh liner and allow air to flow...pretty ingenious.

The Bad
:: This is picky, but an arm pocket would have been nice.
:: Honestly, no other complaints than that. It is still early, and as I mentioned above I am not sure how it will work in 90+ degrees, but this has been a great purchase.

I have an Olympia as well, not sure what model. It is mesh with an insulated liner. I wore it in June in temps over 100. It was comfortable when moving, but heated up quickly when sitting still. Quality-wise I have no complaints.

I almost always wear my leather-personal preference.

As for it being waterproof, I can't say from experience, but I believe it would be. The external layer is not waterproof, but the 1st of the two interior layers is promoted as being waterproof. My thought is that you would want to be off the road before you were in the type of rain necessary to soak through this jacket.

As for cost, I had a 10% off coupon and got it for $245.

One other option on the jacket is that both the interior waterproof and thermal liners are independently removable. Meaning you can have all three components on, or just the external and windbreaker liner, or just the external shell. Additionally, the armor on this jacket fits me well, and is adjustable to a small degree.

 

I purchased the same jacket 8 months ago. I find it strange that the water proofing is a separate layer of jacket. The insulation, third layer, seems to do its job well in colder climates. My only gripe; There is an inside pocket for your wallet and another inside pocket for a cell phone. Both pockets are on the inside left side only. WTF?!? With cell ph and wallet both stowed it's feels too thick on the left side. The pockets feel as if they are right on top of one another.

Othewise I am happy so far with this jacket. At the time I paid $269 at the local MR Cycle.

I recently purchased an Icon chest/back protector that fits snugly under this jacket. The jacket comes with foam padding for the spine but I wanted something additional and the jacket still fits well with this added vest underneath.
