Last Friday I sold my 2001 Blackbird and bought a 1983 VF750F. In fact, it's GreyVF750F's bike. It's nice to know when you buy a used motorcycle that the PO has doted on it for the past 30 years. He recommended that I join here. When I bought the Bird three years ago I thought it was the last bike I'd ever need. Turns out, it was too much bike for the way I ride. I'm not very fast, and I use the bike as my primary every day transportation except when forced by weather or load to use the car or the truck. The Bird isn't happy below 60 mph and the riding position is a little too sporty for this geezer to doddle around town. This Interceptor should fit my riding style very well for at least a few years. I'm not new to V4s, having had a V65 Sabre as my first motorcycle. I have always liked the way they growl. I don't know if he posted about his latest improvements to the bike earlier this year. It now wears a well-fitted VF1000R fairing, so well in fact that once I paint it to match the rest you'll think it was OEM, and 1000R gauges. The dual-headlamp setup with 100W bulbs is a huge improvement over the single rectangular headlamp. Over the winter I'm going to try to fit up some mounts for a Givi Wingrack so I can use hard luggage. Of course there is nothing from the manufacturer that fits this old bike. Then i can use the bike for business trips of up to 1K miles as well as general shopping and other trips. There was a guy some years ago who fit some 1/4-inch aluminum plates between the footpegs and rear frame of his V65 Sabre and mounted a Wingrack to them. I'm going to try something similar.
Technically you should get a pass......but as first post I am pretty sure you need to post a pic no matter what.....
