We are bareing our musical sins on the other thread so what was the best???

I hate to do this but mine is a five way tie for various reasons.

    They are:

The Who performing Qudrafinia (Spelled wrong) with actors on stage doing the parts then The Who came back out and played for another hour and a half! It was at Nissan pavillion in VA in 97.

Radiohead in Columbia, Maryland. Saw them when Hail to the Theif had come out. Words cannot describe how good they sounded and the energy they had. Most poeple think they are depressed or something becasue their music. In concert they are a full on rock band and will blow you away.

The Hives at the Black Cat in D.C. 100% pure punk and rock and roll! I was spent after that show and no one was slam dancing either.

The Cure in Columbia, MD. I was going through a divorce and this was one of the 80's bands I grew up on that actually had talent. They didn't disappoint and I needed a pick me up. They were a band I dreamed of seeing since I was 12. Like The Police, you just never thought you'd get to see them.

The White Stripes at George Mason University in D.C. Another pure rock and roll show and Jack and Meg make sure you are entertained. Sounded amazing too. The crowd was the most diverse I've ever seen too! College kids to people in their 60's I kid you not! Added to how the show went.

    So what's ya got????

That’s a tough one, but I gotta go with Metallica 1989 in San Francisco at the Cow Palace, they were on the And Justice for All tour. Was the first time they were headliners and they just blew the place up. Sadly, I saw them again in the early ‘90s and they were a shell of their former selves. Guess all the success took their edge off.

A close 2nd would be Slayer, 1992 in Sacramento on their Seasons in the Abyss tour. Just an incredibly intense and angry show.

Oh, and I can’t forget the Kiss reunion tour, I think 1995 or so. First time back with Ace and Peter Chris, make-up, etc. Pretty cool show.

Of all the 80's metal bands I saw back in the 80's, I think AC/DC put on the best show.

U2 on their PopMart tour was pretty good, although so was Rob Zombie, both were shows not just a bunch of guys dancing around in spandex on the stage, for that I saw RATT in a small club in Tucson, and it was decent, not terrible, or great...Best free concert...Van Halen in Vegas in 2003, my wife won free tickets in a radio contest, free or not it was still a really good show!!!!!

It is a tie between Scattered Few and Undercover. Small venues in the early nineties. Rockin music with the band at arms reach.

My wife got to see Kansas twice without me and U2 at ASU stadium late 80's (Unforgetable Fire tour).

Hard to say. I think Dylan (just when he went electric), Janis Joplin when she was with Big Brother and the Holding Company, and The Doors which was just incredible, too. But there have been so many others over the years, it's hard to say which was the best. Oh, and Stevie Ray Vaughn -wow! And a live performance of Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris - infriggincredible! And Maynard Ferguson, or Louis Armstrong, or Al Hirt. I'll stop now, though I could go on and on. Fasvorite? Impossible!

Best concert I ever saw was a combo deal called the "Big Mele Festival" in Hawaii in 1993.

It headlined the following bands for 25 bucks:
    Tool
    Fishbone
    Primus
    Stone Temple Pilots
    Violent Femmes

It rocked!! Outdoors, ocean view, plenty-o-hot chicks wearing next to nothing (or less), and I was single at the time, so it turned into an afterparty of historic proportions for me. Oh, to be young again....

nine inch nails - '05 with teeth Tour - Electric Factory; Philadelphia, PA.

Standing on the floor just outside the mosh pit moving with the crowd as it swayed like the ocean's tide. My wife at the time said she finally understood why I liked the band, "It's like a religious sermon where everyone knows the words." The Dresden Dolls opened and impressed me enough I become a fan.

I had to think about this and pick just one standout. (I've seen hundreds of concerts)
    The best was:
Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at Dooleys in Tempe, AZ.
The same night Bruce Springsteen was playing a mile away at the Sun Devil Stadium. I got free tickets to SSJ and was enjoying the show when at about midnight, I noticed new musicians filtering onto the stage during "It aint the meat, it's the motion" and "The Fever". Turns out, by the end of the night it was South Side and Sprinsteen and both bands on stage at the same time for a set. Best concert and to top it off, FREE!
