Hey guys, I just got the 1000f running again after a loooooong weekend working on it, set the valves, sync'ed the carbs and it still has a ticking down in the clutch cover. Pulled the cover off, pulled and checked the clutch plates, retorqued basket back in. We noticed that the oil pump drive chain is REALLY sloppy. Question is... if valves and carb sync can send vibration back through the clutch to get a ticking, could the oil pump chain have the same effect? Anyone ever have this problem before? I am really ready to get this thing out and about, but I can't do it like this.
