I'm looking to mod my oil on my sixth gen. Should I change to full synthetic and if so, which one? Or should I truly "MOD" my oil? I could MOD it with Lucas oil stablizer. I could switch to full synthetic and then MOD it with Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer. OR....There is STP oil treatment with poo loads of ZDDP.

Thoughts on my Oil MOD plan?

I found that if you run semi synthetic through the kitchen blender and medium high then add to your ride, it makes a mess of the kitchen. But if you leave the cap on your beer, it won't go flat. Mind you, plucking nose hairs will definitely make your eyes water.

As as long you keep a regular oil change schedule, I don't think anything you do will be wrong. When I first got my '07, I ran regular dino oil, then switched to a semi-synthetic for the next two oil changes, then went to a full synthetic ever since. I really don't know if any of those are truly better than the rest.

Ok, like an egg beater. I can do that. I'll give it a whirl. Ill add lucas synthetic oil stabilizer. Then i'll run the batch through the egg beater to make sure I get the right blend (cant trust engine to mix it correctly) then Ill add it. If I make a decent size batch, i'll have some left over for top offs and or some starter to seed the next bach I mix up. Kinda like a good sourdough bread.

Any benefits of changing to synthetic other than the long oil changes?

Its an OIL mod. Instead of using what is listed in the manual, I want to do something different. Hence MOD.

Then I thought...mod the MOD. See, Im gonna mix Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer with synthetic oil hence moddng my oil. I plan to use the method recommended by Randy. I'm gonna use a blender then use it in my bike savng the leftover as a starter for the next batch.

Blending oil in a blender will do nothing at the molecular level. What will however change/combine it at that level is a sonic jewelry cleaner. That will agitate the individual molecules of oil combining whatever is in the mix. What this will do to the oil's effectiveness (good or bad) is unknown by me. I've never tried it with oil. I have mixed other stuff in a sonic jewelry cleaner with good results. Only way to tell would be to look at it under a good microscope and test the he11 out of it.

My bike has 9k on the clock now running full synth. I've heard it's not a good idea to switch back to regular dino once you start with synth. But, could I switch to a semi-synth without worrying? I've read a good semi-synth will help with hard shifting on the 5th gens and mine shifting is a little notchy.

Back in the day.....a Saturday....night....a buddy hooked me up with a chick, a yummy chick, late one night and she was.......let's say in the mood. She had a thing aboot baby oil and Dorito's......mind you the Dorito's were crushed into a fine dust and applied after the baby oil. So I took her to the Circle K and we bought the two required items at 2:30 in the morning and used the proper application process (by the manual of course) and I must say I was reluctant at first but recommend it to all. My "oil mod " input on this thread. Please try it.

Your mod is a bit differnt but what do you thnk aout pre-blendng engin oil and additives? I like Randy's optin of an old fashioned egg beeter. Then making a batch.

I have told many this story and have never had a positive reaction but can not recommend it enough.......olive oil as a substitute would be a good idea and a hooker instead of the wife would be a good substitute as well.

Anybody thought of blending forehead oil with synthetic? Might take a while to collect enough though. I mean, you are ni the neighbourhood picking your nose hairs anyways so why not try?
