Ok I have seen this only a couple times. The oil light came on just for a moment when I was riding. It's only happened twice in one month that I have had the bike. It's a 03. Should there be anything I should worry about? Or is it just a hiccup.

The oil light should NEVER come on. If it does it means your oil pressure has gone to zero. It's going to be difficult to find the problem if it's intermittent but that is not something I would ignore.

If its really intermittent I would look for a loose electrical connection.

Very good point. It could be something as simple as the wiring or pressure transducer. Regardless though I'd still start finding out what it is. If it truly is intermittent low oil pressure it can ruin an engine before you know what happened.

You're sure your oil level is correct? Does this happen when just riding straight or when in hard turns or any pattern like that? I think the viffer uses a normal wet sump setup Im guessing with some baffle plates in the pan.

As Porkie said, is your oil level ok? My FZR1000 had a faulty low level oil sensor that would come on at certain times, then go off. I just learn to live with it, as that bike was 21 years old, and I didn't feel like changing it, IF I could even find a part to replace it. I always had enough oil, and I figured, that she would have seized long ago if it was getting starved for oil.

I was thinking maybe if the level is low, maybe in turns the pump starts sucking air. Hard core race cars and such often use a dry sump setup to prevent that.

I had an 84 that did the same thing but it only came on when i was breaking coming down a decent hill incline. I always kept and eye on the oil and it never caused me any trouble.

I'd put a vote for something loose in the Spaghetti.. .02
