I was getting my '07 VFR ready for a trackday at Barber next weekend, and in the process, decided to remove the center stand. Why couldn't Honda have just formed the pipes around that damn bolt on the rt., but I digress . After dropping the exhaust to expose said bolt, I went at the removal. The left hand bolt was putting up quite a fight so l left it for a bit and moved to the rh one. It started giving me a fight also, but I prevailed until I hit the 'oh crap' moment. The bolt sheared off. Decided WTF and went back to remove, or shear if necessary, the left bolt. At least it came out in one piece. Good lord, how much locktite does one need for a center stand bolt  !!!??? Now I know why the rh bolt sheared.

At least I have a bit of bolt showing on the rt. I spent a few minutes with a cold chisel and a 3lb. sledge (tapping gently) to see if I could get the piece to move, no luck in the amount of time I was willing to spend. As they say, 'center stand, we don't need no steeeenkin center stand ...'. I see a possible Pit Bull rear stand in my VFRs future .
