I'm about to buy a 2007 non-abs with 4,000 miles and the rear tire is done. Can someone tell me what the OE tires might be? The seller (a dealer) is offering to replace the rear with a Dunlop D220 for $125 installed, but I'd prefer the front and back match. Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

    Tires

    Hi David,

Congrats on the purchase and you made a good choice. My '07 non-ABS had Dunlop D204s. I've seen others with some Metzeler tires, but don't know which tires. I only got about 2,500 miles out of the OEM rear and those tires were complete crap compared to others I've had on there. With 4,000 miles on the OEMs, I'd insist on a full new set. You'll find tons of info on the site regarding tire & oil choices. My two favorite tires on the VFR are the Michelin Pilot Road 2s and the Dunlop Roadsmarts. I think they compare about equally in performance and mileage (6,000 on each set, ridden agressively, combined with some highway mileage), but the Roadsmarts are cheaper. Some folks like the Continental Road Attacks, but I didn't get the performance or mileage from them that I had hoped. I hope this helps and enjoy your new ride!

Thanks very much. I'm going to negotiate a new set of tires.

I put a Pilot Power on the rear when I picked up a nail and it is a great tire. Has a lot more traction than the stock Dunlop. Still have the factory tire on the front. Planning on replacing it soon
