Oddball '92 engine into '87 frame !?

    just got my hands on a project-gone-wrong. some dolt blowed-up an '87 700 engine and began installing a gen3 engine into the frame, then gaVe up.

    while original engiNE engine haD 5 MOUNTING POINTS (on each side) the gen3 mill lines up with only 3, and in addition the shift shaft hits the sidestand bracket.

    SO my question: aNyone know of a successful gen3 or4 engine transplant into an '86 or '87 frame ??????
