I am new to the VFR world, so I am perplexed about this wire I found. It is on the left side of the frame about 24 inches long with what looks like a banjo fitting. it is bolted to the frame and the other end was just hangin out of the fairing.

I was just wondering what it is for, and where the other end should be connected to.

    here is a pic

Can't say I know for sure, but there is something like that attached to the underside of the gas tank as a safety cable I think. It's in the instruction manual for replacing the air filter (you have to unbolt the front part of the tank and lift it up, but the cable prevents it from going past a certain point). Not sure that's it, but the only thing I can offer.

That looks like the "Fuel Tank Stopper Cable". At least that's what the owners manual calls it. You should hook it back up to prevent the gas tank from flipping over backwards when it is lifted up for service.
