I´m a litle choked how much tires numerus size vs actula size can differ betwen brands, even betwen models at same bramd (manufacture).

I reasenly swamped some tires on my 87 vfr,s stock rim (3,5 wide) and a fz750 rim (3,0 same as old vf 750).
Now I had a nearly worn out, but still round, Bridgestone BT17 on my vfr rim in stock 130/80 size, and it was 144 mm wide on the rim whit a flat profile, going ege to ege was no problem. When mounted on the 3,0 wide rim it was still impressive 142 mm wide and profile was nice.
Now on the 3,0 fz rim when I got it was a 140/70 Bridgestone BT45. It was too round on the 3,0 rim, now way it would go toege to ege. It was 136 mm wide on the 3,0 rim. Then mounted on the vfr 3,5 rim it was whit a nice profile 142 mm wide! 2 mm slimer than the 130/80 BT17! wierd.
Then a stock size 130/80 Pirelli Sport Demon is 135 mm wide on the vfr 3,5 rim, and much higher profile and oad that the bridgestones, that actually was same outer diameter. Strange...
