North Georgia ride part 2 March 1st

Howdy metro atlanta bikers!

Since it's getting warmer now thought I'd see if anyone wants to join in on a half-day group ride through the north georgia mountains. We could meet up off Exit 13 on GA 400 around 10 am, then proceed onto the mountains and then have some lunch in Helen. What do you all think?

Rollin_Again, if you want to go you better not do a pre-ride, we all know what happened from that one! :lol:

 

For all those the sign up for this ride, remember to bring your "Ride with Joey_Dude kit"

1. Lidar/Radar detector
2. $500 or more bail/bond/bribe money or Bail-Bondsman phone number
3. Up to date medical insurance card
4. Clean extra pair undershorts
5. Rain suite

With these five items you will have piece of mind on your lovely jaunt through the picturesque Georgia Mountains. A plus for you tourers is having a bike mounted camcorder to capture the beautiful country side that blurred by in your vision. You can also document how many riders started the tour. So when you count them later to make sure they are all there.

Otherwise have a sporting event and fun. Wish I could make it this time.

Hey Casey, don't forget to include me in your will. Dibs on Mazda Rx8!!! I know you're all the way up in TN and to accomodate you we could even meet up higher or even at a later time schedule a ride through Cherohala Skyway.

I was really hoping to come, but checked my calendar and I will already be up in the mountains hanging out in a cabin with my lovely wife.... sorry guys.

I'm game, depending on what the 'wacky georgia weather' does!
I'm anxious to ride again. I've been out on short jaunts over the winter, but nothing up north yet.

Unfortunately I will be on-call for work that weekend and the only riding I'll be doing is on the couch with my Blackberry.

I do quite a bit of riding up there myself and wouldn't mind trying to hook up with you guys. Might be able to get a couple of SC boys to come along.

 

I was hoping I could, Joey, buy I have to give a two day retreat that weekend with the students. Can't wait 'til TMac and the SEMF event.

 

I just heard from rc24rc51 and he's wondering if any of you would be up for going all the way to Clayton, GA.

Basically he says "From there we could ride 197 around Lake Burton to 356 /75 and 348... or run 76 up to 17/75 over to alt 75 and 348."

I figure the metro atlanta guys can meet up off GA 400 then proceed to meet up with the rest of the north georgia gang.

 

Ok guys, accoding to weather.com it's going to be partly cloudy with a high of 55 degrees. I can handle that. So far matt1986vf500f, GeorgiaRider, a buddy of mine and maybe rc24rc51 with some of his buddies are coming along.

If rc24rc51 is confirming to be coming along what we'll do is have the metro atlanta bikers meet off Exit 13 on GA 400 at the Norman's landing parking spot. Then we'll proceed on to Clayton, GA, which will be a hour and 45 minute drive.

If rc24rc51 can't make it then we'll just go on GA-9 up to GA-19 then 348 and end up in Helen for some lunch. matt, we can just meet you up somewhere in the middle. What's a good location for you?

I figure that'll accomodate you better than you having to crawl down to GA 400 then ride back up.

 

I've been absolutely miserable for the last 2 days with what is probably the flu. I hope to feel alot better by the weekend but i'll keep you posted.

helen is a ok for me, its about 20 mins away so thats all good
