    Hello:

This is my first post, but hopefully not my last.

I have ridden / raced motocross all my life. I had an FZR600 about 18 years ago and got rid of it when my first kid was born (wanted to be around to watch him grow up).

I switched jobs and have a little bit of a commute - about 25 miles one way in So Cal traffic, so I have been thinking of getting another street bike.

I wanted to get something a bit more comfortable than a full on sport bike, but definately don't want a cruzer. The VFR seems to fit that bill perfectly. I have been looking for a used one for about a month now.

I found a 2002 with anti-lock brakes and 5600 miles for around $5k. It is claimed to be in perfect condition. If that's true, it seems like a pretty good deal from what I have been seeing. I am going to go check it out.

What do you all think? Sound like a good deal?

Thanks for the replies. I am in San Clemente, CA.

I have an appt to go see the bike, my wife is not too happy about it.

What is that they say? "it's easier to get forgiven than to get permission...."
