Though I've been lurking about and posting occasionally, I wanted to formally (re)introduce myself, since I am no longer a 'geek with his face pressed up to the glass.' After it decided to stop raining for a couple of days, I've put in 50 miles on my recently delivered '04 VFR800. I am so loving this bike, especially the throaty roar of Vee 4. I need to figure out how to not grab the handle bars so tight, my palms ache after a couple of minutes, but otherwise, the ride is just perfect. Its been awhile since I last rode, but I was impressed how it all came back so quickly, the counter steering, angling through the twisties, dropping the boot just as the bike comes to a stop. My stops & starts are still a little rusty, but I think that's due to my still getting to know my new ride. And the one thing that really took me back, was the smell. I'd forgotten how a running motorcycle, maybe Honda's especially, have that distinctive two-wheeler smell.
