I've got a 1997 VFR 750. I'm in NYC and I'm done with the stock exhaust. If I went can-free and just doubled back the end and threw on some fiberglass wrap, what kind of re-jetting would I have to do to get the mixture rich enough? Any thoughts?

Do that, and it will never run as well, ever !

And you'll never be able to take a peaceful, quiet ride in the countryside.

And people will think you're an obnoxious asshole (and you will be) , just like some of those over-loud Harley idiots.

And you'll lose a portion of your hearing.

Wanna save a couple bucks on an exhaust. You've got two options on your 4th gen. My buddy drilled a couple holes in the end of the can around the tip inside the sheath to get a little more sound. I went with the 150 dollar delkevic slip on on my 5th gen, i love the sound. Pull your pipe off once and start it, so you you have an idea of how absurdly loud it will be, then find a better route.

Yep, what they are saying is true. It is loud. I pulled mine off to go on a poker run with some harleys once and I couldn't hear properly for a week. I loved it at first, but it gets old reeeaaalll fast.

Wow they do have rednecks in New York!! Lol! Just kidding. I agree it's going to be loud and obnoxious but it's your bike...I say do what you want and if you don't like it you can always put the stock cans back on.

I say try it, and get back to us on when it gets old. Then we have a time frame to inform others of when they may tire of the noise. Please include the number of angry people you come incontact with including law enforcement and neighbors that are pissing and shitting blood in anger.

I yanked mine off this weekend JUST to see what all the hype was about...Yes it was cool for about 2 miles then it was just annoying as crap echoing in my Helmet... I do not recommend doing it.At mid range RPM"S it's just annoying as nails on a chalk board.I came right back home and threw the cans back on and was sane again...
