Ok, I have a little prob on my wife's bike. When I start it up it idles pretty high for a while then settles down. If you give it some throttle, it springs back, but the idle stays high for a while again. Does this sound like a dirty carb issue or sticking slide? I haven't taken this bike aprt at all yet really. Just playing around with a bit checking things. It's gonna need lots of cleanup but I think it'll be a good starter for her. When my son gets here this summer, I'm gonna have him help me clean and service it to get him the experience.

That sounds like it's probably a carb thing!

Is the choke working properly? Here's a 250 forum I'm part of. They have a real good FAQ and people that know their stuff.
