Hello everyone I'm henry ...AKA saguaro16 from arizona USA. I hope I'm in the right spot here. Anyway, i just got me a bike 87' vfr 700 16k miles on it & the last registration is way back in 2010....replaced batt, fuel filter, plugs, clean tank , clean carbs....did all that myself...lol. anyway, tried to start cranking but not picking up......i was reading here earlier with the same issues.....maybe just a fuel pump itself? Or ignition coil? Some relays? ...this is my first post & hopefully i can get back to this to also reply to everyone. I do apologize have a great one & ride safe.

A big welcome to you, Henry! Wow, 16k miles on a 30 year old bike!! I hope for your sake that it was stored in a VERY DRY Place. Sounds like you have started in the right places. If it's turning over check the plugs for a strong spark and if you have fuel getting to the cylinders. Get some compression test numbers also. And for those of us who are visual please post some pictures.

Heyo Henry. I'm in Glendale / Peoria area. You in the valley? I'm not a professional mechanic, but maybe I can lend a hand.
