I posted my howdies in the 5th Gen thread. Long story short, I traded my 01 Ducati 748S for this gorgeous VFR8. I loved my Duc but wanted a more grown-up bike. Especially since I ride 30+miles round trip a day.

Complete strip down of factory fairings (yellow) and respray black with hand painted Honda "wings" on sides.
Wheels stripped, polished, and the centers painted burnt orange.
    Micron high pipe slip-on

    Love it to death!

The wife hated this Duc but really likes this VFR.

    Heres the Duc:

I've done a complete walk thru of the bike and can't find one thing other than the aged windscreen that needs replaced. Damn nice bike. I've had it 4 days and I've gotten more compliments than I ever did with the Duc. Ducatis always seem to bring out alot of anger in people. Jealousy maybe? Or they just hate Italian bikes? Either way, I've got two more Ducs and I've always wanted a VFR (94-95) and I'm tickled to have this one!

where are you located? we don't see a lot of black 5th gens here. I like the duc and always have, but when you compare comfort/cost the VFR comes away the winner in my book.

I'm near Akron Ohio. It was a yellow bike originally. You'd be hard pressed to find any remains of yellow. The guy I got it from is a bike painter and does killer work. I've got a 996S, a 900SS, and a CBR 900RR project (frame, swing, sub) also. A Duc is great till you need to do the $800 every 6K service or $1200 every 12k service. Thats why I learned to do it myself! Yet another reason why I've got both the Ducs almost sold.
