VFR brothers and sisters! New guy here with an odd question...

Background- I'm riding a 98 VFR (LOVE it!), and this June I'm going to take the motor and harness and transplant them into a BEC (Bike Engined Car) project that I'm working on.. This last week I unexpectedly found a local guy selling a 98 VFR engine/frame/harness and some odd bits for a good price... so now I have some extra 'stuff' that I didn't plan on having (I'm going to keep this engine as a spare, and it's currently being used for mockup)..

So onto my question, and it's about the frame/subframe. It seems nice- not super-pretty or clean, but it's straight and not broken or bent.. my question comes in the price/sale.. I DO NOT have a title, and don't know the back story... I'm not looking for a million bucks for it, but I don't want to give it away either.. I'm seeing the online/ebay guys asking for what seems like a lot for frames- since I have no title I'm sure it's worth much less, but it can't be worthless either?! Any idea what I should ask/what's fair?

    thank you

that's really a tough call with the title situation. Here in Cali it'd prob be tough to get that one registered. Not that many people looking to make a track bike out of a VFR. You'd prob get more selling it for the weight in recyclable material if they'll take it. Just a guess, though.

I have a spare engine, and entire set of plastics (minus front fender) and a tank that are all extra. We almost have a whole bike!

Hanging around for about 3yrs now and only know of one guy who needed a frame and it had to be titled.

I had a 3rd gen frame without title. With all the bearing races pushed out so it was "clean", I got somewhere between $3-5bucks at salvage.

Scrap price was down at the time so it could be worth 6 to 10 bucks today.

I was thinking the title (lack of) would be the deal killer.. I just hate to cut this thing up- somewhere there's a wadded-up bike that could be brought back.. maybe I'll shove it in the attic.. thanks for the feedback guys.
