Newbie Vfr

    I fell in love with these bikes some time back and
    am now in the position to getting one. However,
    as a new rider would it be best for me to try and
    find a 400 or just go ahead and get a 750? I am
    going to be using this as a commuter, do plan on
    getting very good riding equipment, gloves, boots,
    jacket, pants, and lastly a very good helmet.

    My frame is about 5ft8 and have read where some
    shorter riders have had to lower the bike. I know
    this changes the geometry to an extent and for
    the most part the roads I travel are country roads
    with very little twisties.

    Also, if it seems a better fit to get the 400 where
    would I be most likely to find one already in the
    U.S.?

    400 vfr? where you at? not here in that states i take it, thou those 400s are the sheits in the RVFR model. Couldn't hurt to go try one on for size.

    Yes I'm in the states. I have seen only a couple for sale
    but VERY few, that is the 400 both vfr and rvf. They are
    hard to come by and most of the time are more than list.


    If its the 400 or 750 none of them are local and I was more
    wondering if they were ok for first timers? Well, I say first
    timer, I raced dirt in my much younger years.

    Then again you could just sell me yours.

    Have a friend that has a RVFR400 damn little, but not all that great for a first time bike just due to the fact parts are like next to impossible to get and no dout being new there's going to be a tip over some where, sorry but it's just tha facts Funny you say "sell me yours" as I've been looking at getting a nother bike and haven't made up my mind to sell or not. yea you guys heard it right, I'm thinking, but not very likely, as I start that beast it comes to mind what the "H" are you thinking. still have tripped over a very hard to pass up great deal on a Ducati. Need to ride it first before I'll know for sure what I'm up to

    Okay back on track, yea could lower a VFR. been done, it works, just need to make sure you shorten the side stand and be prepared to not be able to use the center stand unless you ride up on a 2x4. A great alternet is a 88-90 Hawk 650, for starters lower seat, lighter to throw around and I'm willing to bet once you're done with her you be able to re=goup your money if you take good care of her. they too come with a SSSA and they're a Vtwin so not all that bad to start out on. later on, once you got it all figured out then go look at newer VFRs. just my thoughts hope that helped somewhat.

    I started on a 305cc lol and out grew it fast. There's nothign wrong with starting on a 750. The front wheel will stay down unless you try to bring it up, in which case you're looking to be reckless anyways.

    RVFR,
    Can you do a wav of that 400? I hear its not like the 750 or 800
    or not even close to a cbr, kinda like a 250 two stroke with a bit
    less tinny sound. So, I have been told. Lets get hear it dude. I'm
    really thinking I want one BAD.

    Then you can tell me how to go about finding one.
